Thanks to a new partnership with Apex Dental Partners, Headless Hostman can now deploy to your AWS S3 and interface with Cloudfront Distributions.
Apex Dental Partners wanted to switch from Simply Static to Headless Hostman.
Their infrastructure, however, was deeply engrained in AWS S3 buckets and Cloudfront Distributions.
So they tasked us with building an integration with AWS.
And we did.
If you’re already leveraging a Static WordPress solution to deploy to AWS S3 Buckets, you’re ready for action.
Our deployment method simply mimics your existing AWS S3 folder and file structure.
Once you’re set up, the change over is seamless.
On our native Cloudflare deployments we already supported Rank Math, Yoast, and Redirection 301s.
We adapted our method to work seamlessly on AWS Cloudfront Distributions by developing a LAMBDA function.
AWS S3 Buckets are notorious for not handling trailing slashes — or the lack thereof — all that well.
For example, if you have a link on your page like “site.com/about” AWS will route it to a 404 or misconfiguration page.
Our LAMBDA function automatically reads those instances and redirects them to the correct address. This skips the headache of mass-changing links.
Need to clear your AWS Cloudfront Distribution cache? You could …. login, navigate to Cloudfront, then the Distribution, and then the Cache Invalidations tab.
Or, you could just push a single button in WordPress.
It’s that simple.
As opposed to pushing directly to AWS S3 Buckets, we route all deployments through GitHub first.
That means if something goes wrong, all you have to do is roll it back to a previous version.
AWS does offer version control within S3 Buckets, but it’s an additional — and sometimes significant — cost.
We handle it for you.
If you’re using your own AWS account, you’re already handling the cost of live traffic, not us.
With that, we’re happy to quote you a custom plan outside of our full-scale options.
We’re here to help.
